Rheumatism is more common in women than men. When we look at the specifics of Turkey, it is seen that this disease is more common especially in women over the age of 35.

When the family history is examined, it is obvious that this disease is also seen in relatives, and the probability of this disease is high in individuals with a relative history. The disease has a genetic aspect and is multifactorial.

Which Doctor Should I Go To?

The relationship between human and health is an element that affects the life of life. When people sense the slightest symptoms in themselves, they should apply to the nearest institution. First of all, it would be healthier to apply to the affiliated family doctor and to undergo a preliminary examination. As a result of the physical examination and analyzes, the family physician will refer him to a clinic with an internal medicine department, if necessary. The person can then apply to a training and research hospital, city hospital, state hospital, private hospital, university hospital or a private clinic with internal medicine (internal diseases) with this referral. Internal diseases (internal medicine) specialist physician first takes anamnesis (symptom, complaint) and then performs a detailed physical examination.

During the physical examination, everything is questioned, including the history, family history, medications used, operation history, system query. Then, the internist may request re-examinations and imaging and re-evaluate the patient according to the results. After evaluating the patient, the specialist internist can inform the patient that there is no rheumatological problem in the patient, that the current symptoms are due to other reasons, these reasons can be referred to the branches he deems relevant, or he can say that the patient does not need to do anything. However, if, as a result of examinations and analyzes, the patient sees a situation in favor of rheumatism, the specialist internal medicine doctor may refer the patient to the rheumatology department clinic.

Rheumatology

Rheumatology is a branch of science that examines and regulates auto-immune, auto-inflammatory and rheumatic diseases. He is one of the minors of the internal medicine department. A person who is an internal medicine specialist can take the YDUS exam and choose with the score he gets, and can specialize in rheumatology in a place where he specializes in rheumatology. This specialization is for 3 years. At the end of the 3rd year, he received the title of internal medicine specialist and rheumatologist at the same time. The person who is an internal medicine and rheumatology specialist does his compulsory service according to the state service obligation and then moves to the health institutions he wants.

The patient, who has an internal medicine examination, then makes an appointment with a rheumatologist with MHRS. Then it is examined in detail by a rheumatologist. Detailed rheumatological examinations are requested from the patient. Some of these tests can take weeks to conclude. As a result of the examinations, it is decided whether the patient has rheumatism or not. The treatment of the patient is arranged accordingly.

Some of the patients may apply to a Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation specialist at the first time due to their symptoms. FTR, which is a subsidiary of FTR, can then be referred to Rheumatology. With FTR Rheumatology, this diagnosis can be made to the patient. In the meantime, the patient can shuttle between internal medicine and rheumatology.
